Reviews

Let us get the M4/3 Vs. Full Frame nonsense out of the way first. If you shoot above 6400 ISO or print HUGE images e.g., posters, do not get an M4/3 system camera. Buy equipment designed for a purpose and get a bigger sensor.

If, like me, you shoot mostly in good light (below 6400 ISO) and want professional quality and versatility… This camera is pretty close to a sound system. Taking into account the smaller/lighter form factor, selection and price of lenses, ergonomics, video quality, brilliant user interface, articulating screen, industry-leading AF, EVF and IBIS among a whole raft of other class-leading features… There is very little here to criticize.

Panasonic has been in the M43 game for over a decade now, and they have the format perfected (albeit probably maxed-out at this stage).

I shoot quite a lot of product photography, and the ‘Pixel Shift’ feature allows me to shoot a right 80MP RAW image of a stationary object from a tripod. This feature alone ultimately renders a full-frame or DSLR irrelevant for me; with smaller, less obtrusive, less expensive, dare I say it… Less pretentious equipment.
