Reviews.

The beauty of a lens to use, shame Sony decided to price this so much dearer like against the other Sony f1.8 lenses. Most likely as it been the most requested lens for Sony to produce for its FF mirrorless market

With speedy AF (even on my a7ii), a small size camera, lovely vignette, sharp from wide open.

Build wise, it is pretty much the same size as the 55 1.8, which makes happy. That even look similar, but the 55 does feel pristine. The 35’s focus ring sticks out rather than being flush with the barrel, but that’s nit-picking. Having the custom button is a definite plus over the 55.

The only caution for anyone that shoots landscapes etc. – even at f8, there’s vignetting at the very edges, which is rather strange, but sometimes it doesn’t matter. It noted on some proper lens reviews.

Well worth the money

Shots look natural, and the image quality is excellent. Noticing some vignetting as well as grade drop off at corners at f2 and f1.8. The vignette is possible to correct in LR, and the quality drop off isn’t pronounced enough to drop stars. Usually, do not shoot wide open for my purposes anyway. It’s lightweight, low profile, and the AF is decent although not tested video fully yet.

You will not be disappointed with the performance.

One of the best Sony lenses IMA
