Sony ILCE6000 24.3 MP Digital Camera
It is a great little camera. It’s smaller and lighter than my trusted Canon S.L.R., and the photos are just as good. What sold this camera to me was the price and having a viewfinder is a must on bright sunny days. There are two minor issues the battery won’t last as long as an S.L.R. camera, and the S.D. memory card is challenging to remove. I recommend a small pair of tweezers for this job. Lastly, I’ll be taking this Sony camera out with me a lot more than my bulky but excellent S.L.R. camera.
As someone who always believed the old ‘, you need to use a DSLR if your professional,’ I never really thought of getting a mirrorless camera, but I would never look back now! Not only is the camera half the weight, more comfortable to carry and hold, but it is also fast, stunning, and captures colors perfect! It does capture that is what you are looking for in a camera! The EVF is excellent, and the control over every single button and function is fantastic! The buttons are placed perfectly for easy use, and the shutter is damn fast! You do not need a mirror or a substantial, heavy camera as a professional myself. It is the person behind the camera and a good spec camera, which this sure is!
The best Sony I.L.C. yet. I wonder why people spend so much on the A7x cameras and the substantial additional investment required for new lenses when this humble APS-C camera does so very well. Yes, I understand the argument of F.F. vs. APS-C, but the law of diminishing returns applies, I think. Image quality is terrific, but with one important caveat; the standard 16-50mm kit lens is awful, just awful. Do what I did, buy the body only, and get the 35mm f/1.8 and the 50mm f/1.8 lenses. Both are great; the 50mm is optically better, producing sharper images than the 35mm. I’m told that the 10-18mm f/4 wide-angle zoom is good, too (but at a high price). And that’s the rub with Sony’s APS-C mirrorless cameras: the lens choice is minimal. Perhaps there’s some point to the A7x series after all if you’ve got bottomless pockets.
