The Fujifilm XF16-55mm is a weather-resistant zoom lens with a constant aperture of F2.8 across the focal lengths. It is a convenient standard zoom lens covering a wide range of shooting scenes, from the wide-angle 24mm equivalent suitable for landscape photography to the medium-telephoto 84mm equivalent, ideal for portraiture. The XF16-55mm delivers ultra-sharp images even at wide-open apertures across the entire zoom range! It features a weather-resistant and dust-resistant finish; the lens can work in temperatures as low as -10C.

The lack of OIS is not a deal-breaker for me either, although it would be an excellent option. The fixed 2.8 aperture goes some way to cancel the need out, but then that is why this lens is the size it is. The difference in image quality between the 18-55 and the 16-55 is visible – even without pixel peeping – this lens is sharper at low apertures and exhibits better contrast in most lighting situations. It is truly a professional grade lens and feels reassuring like it won’t let you down.
