Versatile scenes
The HD PENTAX-D FA 24-70mm is the perfect lens to cover a range of shooting situations. It’s the ideal accompaniment for travel, architecture, groups, portraits, and live performances.
Landscapes
By assuring sufficient light levels even at the edges of the image field and keeping aberrations to a minimum, it provides a high MTF (Modulation Transfer Function). It delivers well-illustrated, fine-detailed images that are rich in contrast and resolution across the entire image field.
Reviews
It is a lightweight lens, but the image quality and build are excellent. It is my first choice for a travel /everyday lens. All the reviews connected to this lens are for other Pentax lens specifications, so I thought I would write a report which links to the correct lens (Amazon should be careful about this!). If you do not have a full-frame Pentax SLR, do lookout for a deal that combines a camera and this lens as it will probably be much better valued.
The excellent lens gives good results, has a non-rotating front element, and a little trap door at the bottom for adjusting a polarizer in the lens hood. It will be my no one lens unless I want to go for extra-wide shots. Suits the k-1 nicely and is usefully wide at the 28mm end on a full-frame FF setting. Lovely to handle & all the rings turn smoothly (Compared to my Sigma) and balances with the camera. It is the lens for general out and about handheld shots.
High and quite heavy, but the clarity and sharpness of the images taken are brilliant. Used in low light/dark clouds and maximum focal length at an airshow, and I am happy with the results. Superb lense
Sharp images, weather-resistant, relatively inexpensive, what more do you want out of a lens in a camera like this.
Truly is the definitive macro lens for Pentax bodies
