Top reviews

Having read the reviews, I took a chance and bought this. It arrived quickly and was a breeze to set up. Plug and play, although it took a while to find an excellent spot to have the hub as it uses the Wi-fi broadcast from the corner to connect to the network.

The App is brilliant and easy to use, and the video quality is excellent (during the day).

But then it’s downhill from here –

Firstly, at random, after about 24hrs of use, you find the odd camera offline and disconnected. Have to find the device, take the battery out, and put it back in, and they are fine.

Secondly; the motion detection is absolutely pants, few things:

The active zones do not work, no matter what you try.

On motion detection, I found that it seems to skip about 5 to 10 seconds of the object coming into view of the camera. It defeats the purpose. I tried different settings but could never get a complete recording of anything coming into the camera view.

Then let’s talk about the live view; well, that takes about 20s to come to life, and then there is about a 6s delay on what you see on the phone. Again, it defeats the purpose.

I’ve tried all the things on the website, forums, YouTube.

Great idea but the technology is just not there yet; few more years, I think.

For £900 expected so much more.

This system has some great features, two-way audio, night vision, great field of view, alarm, and cloud storage; all fantastic. However, I returned this camera system and bought a hardwired system instead. The battery life was the main problem; each camera ran out of power in 24 hours which doesn’t work if you plan to go away from home at any point. The batteries take 4 hours to recharge too. There is also a very long delay between the motion sensor activating and recording the image commencing, long enough for someone to walk through the frame unobserved. It has a handy feature that enables it to pair with Alexa, but the time delay makes real-time viewing of cameras almost impossible (unless the criminals are very cooperative). They are straightforward to remove from the wall too, which sort of defeats the object. My broadband is good, and customer service didn’t help much, suggesting I fit a dedicated power supply. In summary, it’s a great idea that didn’t work out for me.
