IQ is OK but certainly not living up to the hype. 4K video isn’t as sharp as my 3-year old Fuji X-T2, there’s no 60fps mode, 8-bit slog is quite limiting when graded. Microphone and headphones ports covers are stiff, made of plastic, and rattle under the slightest movement, which gets picked up by the microphone, so forget about any severe video recording on the move. They also get in the way of each other; whoever designed them should be fired.

The AF point is grey, so you can rarely see it, and the most recent firmware hasn’t addressed that issue.

HOWEVER, for the price, which is not cheap, there is nothing like it. Sorry, I am not knocking Canon or Nikon, but really at this price point, there is, at present, no competition.

I have shot Sony (not exclusively) for over seven years, and this is the best. I love my A7rii, but my computer hates it. 24mp for daily/general use is perfect, and your computer will love you for it. If you know how to use this camera, it’s excellent but remembers it is YOU who takes the picture, not the camera.

If you are new to Sony, try it out first. If you are a Sony user, you will not be disappointed. The Sony A7Riii and the A9 are better, and several £ 0000’s more, but neither have the combined features this has.
