Sony Alpha 6600 | APS-C

The picture quality and dynamic range on this camera have exceeded all the expectations, but without a doubt, the autofocus system that shines for both people and wildlife; it astonished at how quickly the A6600 acquired focus both with native and adapted lenses.

The ISO for low light improved to the extent that it was comparable.

As most of you will know, if you are looking at the Sony range of cameras, the touch screen capabilities are far and few between or non-existent, to be honest.

The IBIS is ok but not a touch on Panasonic and Olympus.

 Battery life was awe-inspiring.

Grip – The ergonomics have also improved due to the larger grip, which accommodates the new battery.

If you are looking for a camera with a built-in flash, this will not be the camera for you; if you are looking for a range finder style body with leading Autofocus and excellent image quality, don’t think you can go wrong with this camera –

Compared to using a Sony A7iii and A7sii, have to admit, it is quite an impressive camera.

The Autofocus is spot-on, reason alone to have it in your arsenal.

Picture profiles are all there, including HLG.

Stabilization is ok but not outstanding.

NO RECORD limit! It is enormous as most other Sony cameras stop recording after 30min.

Small and compact, and it works with all full-frame lenses.

 No overheating issues so far

 Great for taking photos too

Overall, brilliant camera and the batteries last for ages.

There are several negatives, though, mostly around 4K video recording. Eye detection and tracking do not work while in 4K mode, which is super disappointing. You only get 8-bit 4:2:0 internal colour recording or 8-bit 4:2:2 on an external recorder, which is a real downer considering the competition is all going with 10-bit color now.

Apart from this, Autofocus is excellent; HLG video is easy to use.

However, Wi-Fi remote disabled if the PC remote enabled, and it is just annoying to have to go into the setting and change it.
